Limes on Orange

Limes on Orange
9 x 6
Pastel on Pastel Premier Paper

It's time for some kitchen paintings. We recently bought some colorful cutting boards. Technically, I'm told they are to color code what they are used for (or at least that is what Rick would have me do). But...how can an artist limit foods to particular colors? Clearly, the limes should go on orange or red, and lemons on blue. Red tomatoes on green or turquoise.

I sliced these limes really thin so that the orange would show through. I may have to do some different compositions. Who knows, maybe I'll even mix up the fruits and colors! Some days, it's hard to be an artist, always composing paintings in my head.
